Dr Damon Shorter

Damon Shorter is a general paediatrician who sees children from birth until age 18 years. He runs busy private rooms in East Gosford and is a Senior Staff Specialist Paediatrician at Gosford Hospital, supporting the Emergency and Obstetric Departments, Children’s Ward, and Special Care Nursery. He has been a visiting paediatrician at Yerin Aboriginal Medical Service in Wyong since 2011.
Damon trained through Sydney University and Westmead Children’s Hospital with a special interest in critical care, including secondments to the Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS), Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care units.
He is heavily involved in teaching and education, is a course director for Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Australasia, regularly teaches medical students from Newcastle University, and is the Central Coast Regional Paediatric Examination Coordinator for the Royal Australasian Collage of Physicians. Damon lives locally with his two children and wife Haematologist Alison Lyons.
Regrettably, Dr Shorter is unable to take on new patients currently, unless they are a sibling of an existing patient of his.
